A You Are Video offers something special for a person suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia or other brain related injuries. This is a chance to remind them how much they are loved and to bring some joy to a situation that is incredibly challenging for everyone involved.
You Are Videos are based on the contribution of loved ones but for situations with memory care issue, we work with the family to determine what would best serve the person. For example, we may ask contributors to say something like “I know [person’s name] from [work, college, sports, etc] and to me he is…[amazing, brave, determined, etc] with the idea being that this might help with names and help avoid frustration.
Of course this isn’t a cure in anyway but we do believe that showering someone with love brings joy and happiness to a very challenging situation and that is good thing.
Since your plate is probably completely full with taking care of your loved one and managing your own life, you will be glad to know that we do all the work. That means gathering the contributions, putting the video together, delivering the final version and sending out thank you’s to all the people that particiapted. We just need a list of emails from you and about 30 days. And there is a 100% money back guarantee. If the video doesn’t bring joy to your love one, we will refund your money.
Response from a son whose mother has severe dementia
She loved it. I saw my mom laugh, cry and chuckle for the first time in months. I wish I had done this 6 months ago.
and 10 days after the first showing
We have shown her the video 3 or 4 times now and everytime she connects more and more with the video. It is really helping her.

You maybe thinking that your loved one has progressed too far in the illness to respond. And yes there are people that will be in that situation. But we are finding that is at the very, very end of the illness. Often times people with dementia go in and out of lucidity. Since the video can be played at any point on a computer or a tablet, it makes for an ideal way for them to connect with loved ones when their memory returns.
Of course, this has be approved by the care providers but you could also use the video as part of a daily or weekly regime. If it brings joy to them you can play it as many time as you want.
Lastly (and this sometimes overlooked,), you will benefit from doing the video. Hearing how your loved one is remembered and revered by the people that know them best will bring a smile to your face every time. Yes there will be tears and sadness because you know what is happening, but a You Are Video will also help you remember the good times. It is a very special gift that impacts the person receiving it, the people contributing to it and you, the person giving it.
I invite you to get started. I know how hard all of this must be for you and how hard you work. You have a near impossible task. So with great humility and respect for all that you do, I invite you to let me make a video for you and your loved one. We can bring joy and happiness and love and smiles and laugher to your situation and that would be a great honor for us.
