Appreciation is seeing the greatness in ourselves and seeing the greatness in the others. It doesn’t mean we are perfect in any way shape or form but that we all have value. Appreciation is recognizing that value in each of us.
When you recognize that greatness in another person you have to recognize it in yourself. As is said in sports – “Game sees Game.”
So appreciation not only makes someone else’s day but it also gives you more confidence. That confidence will give you the courage to take action in things that are important to you. If you believe success is all about taking step after step and not getting stopped, then you can see that if you raise your level of appreciation for yourself and others, you will stop less and increase your ability to achieve that success.
Appreciating others is the easiest thing to do – just let people know what they mean you or what you see in their commitments and endeavors.
And here is an easy way to jump start your appreciation habit – sign up below for my Week of Appreciation. For 7 days I will email you about a person (i.e. which friend of yours inspires you the most? who has contributed to you the most in the past year?. etc) and simply ask you to let them know what you think.
This practice made a huge difference in my life and I think it can do the same for you.
